Proctor Sandwich

I probably wouldn't have purchased the Proctor Sandwich
Grill for myself, as I'd have tried to make do with my old
skillet and take my chances.
However, my neighbor bought it for me as a present, and I
was so glad she did. It was truly a gift because it was a treat
I wouldn't have considered before. And now I use it so much
that it's become pretty much a necessity around our house.
It makes sandwiches, of course. It has a non-stick surface
that's pretty easy to take care of and generally food doesn't
stick. But if you're going to use the appliance for a variety
of things like I do, you'll probably want to oil a napkin or
cloth and wipe it before using. You could also spray an oil
product like PAMo on its surface.
This will definitely keep your grill working well with very
little maintenance or cleaning, always a boon to busy cooks. I
say that because I don't just make sandwiches with it.
I have experimented with lots of dough and batter based
foods and it works wonderfully. Just mix up a batter for
anything you'd like, from pancakes to cakes and cornbread. Pour
it in the middle and it will fill to the edges.
In a matter of minutes you'll have an automatically timed
masterpiece of baked good. The nice thing when you have lots of
people to please, or picky children, is that you can make just
small amounts on this Proctor Grill.
You can pour in a small amount on the bottom half, and make
snack cakes for everyone to take with them. The sandwich part
works well also for multiple or picky eaters because the grill
seals the edges of the bread you put in so you can make
separate sandwiches with different fillings for your group.
Crescent rolls can also be laid down on the grill so they
can be filled. And I was really surprised that I could put eggs
in there and make omelets with any additions that I wanted to
make for extra taste.
Cooking time is somewhere between five and ten minutes for
an item so you can do something else while you're waiting for
that. I've saved so much time and energy making lunches with
this wonderful little machine that I can feed my family well
without much effort.
That means I can put more time into thinking up healthy
meals for dinner and can dream up menus that I want to use when
entertaining. Everybody wins!
